Aria Casino in Las Vegas

Panoramic view of the Aria Casino in Las Vegas

Attracting attention in the heart of Las Vegas is quite tricky, but for some resorts, it is possible. A striking example is the Hotel and Casino Aria, part of CityCenter. Two high-rise, curved glass buildings unwittingly attract the eye.

Aria Casino Location

Aria Resort & Casino is a luxurious hotel and casino located in the CityCenter complex on the Las Vegas Strip. It is within five kilometers of McCarran Airport and half an hour from the Hoover Dam.

Description of Aria Resort

Aria occupies two buildings with floors up to 61 and 51. It is the tallest (180 meters) and largest (370,000 square meters) building in CityCenter. It is named Aria because it is central to the CityCenter, just as Aria is the main component of any opera. The complex is owned by MGM Resorts International and Infinity World Development.

Aria consists of the following facilities:

  • a five-star hotel with more than four thousand rooms,
  • sixteen restaurants,
  • ten bars,
  • nightclubs,
  • and a casino area of 14,000 square meters.

It also has a vast swimming pool, a large salon and SPA, a conference center, and a concert hall.

History of Aria Resort & Casino

Aria was created in 2004 by MGM Resorts International (now MGM Mirage) as part of CityCenter. Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects designed the architectural project.

Construction began in early 2006 in the area between Monte Carlo and Bellagio Hotel and Casino Boardwalk, as well as various retail stores and ample parking was there before.

All of them were demolished in April 2006, and the foundation of Aria was laid in June. The building was constructed at a rate of one floor per week.

In 2007, during construction, Infinity World Development, a subsidiary of Dubai World, acquired 50 % of the CityCenter project for $2.7 billion. Since then, Aria has had two owners.

The inauguration of Aria and CityCenter happened on 16 December 2009.

Aria Casino Hotel Design

Aria consists of two curved glass and steel buildings. They are interconnected, and at their base, there is a three-story lobby and casino. The buildings' decoration is made of natural materials: wood, stone, and glass.

It can not be called a thematic design that distinguishes it from most of the hotels and casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. In the interior of Aria, there are numerous works of art.

Gambling in Aria Casino

CityCenter complex has only one casino, and it is located in Aria. On an area of 14,000 square meters, there are various gambling games:

  • thousands of different slot machines,
  • a roulette set,
  • poker,
  • blackjack,
  • baccarat,
  • craps,
  • other card and board games.

Slots are regularly updated to delight customers with only the latest games. Aria Casino partially uses natural light, which almost all casinos avoid according to tradition.

ARIA participates in the MGM Rewards program, which is the loyalty program for all MGM Resorts International properties. By joining MGM Rewards, guests can earn points and tier credits for their hotel stays, dining experiences across the resort, and gaming activities at slots and table games. These earned rewards can then be redeemed for exclusive benefits, including discounted room rates, special offers, priority access, and more, enhancing future visits to ARIA and other MGM Rewards destinations.
